Greek-Albanian Relations Prior To 1821 To Be Discussed in Melbourne

Dionisis Sykiotis will give a speech at the Greek Community Center in Melbourne, titled “Greek-Albanian Friendship Before 1821. Kolokotronis’ Close Friendship With Muslim Ali Farmaki. Immigrants All Over the World Should be Integrated, Not Incorporated.”

Dionisis was born in China and his parents came from the Greek island Ithaca. He completed his school studies in Greece, but moved to Australia in 1949. He studied Applied Chemistry at the University of Melbourne.

After working for seven years in the industry sector and having lectured for 24 years at the RMIT, as well as at the Aegean University for 10 more, Sykiotis returned to his parents’ birthplace; he now lives in Stavros village on Ithaca.

The speech will take place on May 6 at the Greek Community Center in Melbourne, and will be discussed in Greek.
