Tribute to Mimis Plessas at the Megaron Concert Hall of Athens

A concert-tribute to the music and valuable artistic ability of Mimis Plessa will take place April 24 at Megaron Concert Hall of Athens.
His well-known songs include “O Dromos” (“The Road”) and “Mila moy gia Lefteria” (“Talk to me about Freedom”). Lefteris Papadopoulos will have a leading presence in the tribute.
Gerasimos Andreatos, Rita Antonopoulou, Melina Aslanidou, Spiros Klissas will sing his songs while he accompanies them, playing the piano as uniquely as he knows how. George Pachis will play bouzouki, Nasos Sopilis will be on keyboards and Dimitris Stasinos will play electric guitar.
“En fonais” choir, under Alexandros Stoupakis, will accompany the singers. The famous composer will also be in charge of the orchestration.
Special tickets are offered to the unemployed, students, young people and individuals with special needs (7.5 Euros), while families having many children and the elderly will also pay reduced tickets (9.5 Euros).
Plessas has written music for the recording industry, cinema (with over 100 films to his credit), theatre, and radio and television series’. He has conducted many orchestras both in Greece and abroad. Among the singers who have sung his songs are: Tonis Maroudas, Jenny Vanou, Marinella, Yiannis Poulopoulos, Tolis Voskopoulos and Stratos Dionysiou. He has been awarded many times for his contribution to music over a period spanning more than 50 years.
