Antonis Samaras Meets With Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I

The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople greeted the leader of the Greek conservative party of Nea Dimokratia, Antonis Samaras, today in Fener, Istanbul.

Samaras visited His Eminence around 1:30pm, accompanied by his wife and the spokesperson of Nea Dimokratia, Yiannis Michelakis.

The conservative leader visited the church of St. George, where he was informed about the state and history of the holy relics and the icons preserved by the Grand Archdeacon of the Throne, Father Maximos.

Next, the Greek politician visited the third floor of the Patriarchic House where he was warmly welcomed by the Patriarch. The two men discussed issues concerning the everyday life of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Greek community of Turkey.
