Famous German newspaper Die Welt published a reportage, under the title “Pursuit of Offers in Real Estate on Greek Islands,” underlining the importance of increasing rates of German visitors for Greece.
Germans have always been keen on visiting Greek islands, but now they found a better reason for visiting Greece. They look for good opportunities, concerning property buying on our islands, especially on Rhodes.
This is the perfect moment for them to deal with house agents and Greeks in need. Greece faces a financial crisis while Germans plan to buy their new homes in their “dreamland,” and only for a few euros!
“For Germans, Austrians and Swiss, who always wanted a place of their own in the sunny Mediterranean,” comments the German journalist, “this significant price drop makes Greek islands attractive to them. They’ve shown interest for immediate house purchase at a bargain price.”
On the other hand, there are also those people, who, despite the low prices, remain skeptical about spending their money in the Greek market due to the debt crisis. “They are afraid,” adds the journalist, “that they will invest money in a country and will get…drachmas back one day.”
