Collectible Euro Coins Issued by the Greek General State Accounts Office

The Greek General State Accounts Office will issue collective Euro coins. According to the Office’s planning, the following coins will be issued:
1. Collectible circulation 2 Euro coins in special packaging, dedicated to the 10 year anniversary of Euro transactions in the country.
2. An elaborate series of Greek Euro coins of all values with the island of Santorini as a main theme. Santorini was chosen as the best island of the world for the year 2011 in a vote held by Travel & Leisure NY.
3. An elaborate series of Greek Euro coins, including a new collectible silver coin, of all values, dedicated to the famous Greek Doctor George Papanikolaou, commemorating 50 years since his death.
4. A gold commemorative coin with a nominal value of 100 Euros, bearing two different patterns dedicated to the 100 year anniversary of Thessaloniki’s liberation and the beginning of the Balkan Wars.
5. A mini gold collector coin with a nominal value of 50 Euros bearing a pattern dedicated to the archaeological area of Pella.
6. A silver collective coin with a nominal value of 10 Euros dedicated to Greek tourism.
7. A series of Euro coins in proof printing quality, especially issued for collectors in limited pieces.
The distribution of the collective coins will take place at the Central Bank of Greece and its various annexes.
