Ares Kalogeropoulos’ Video on the Return of the Parthenon Marbles

Conductor and photographer Ares Kalogeropoulos launched a campaign aiming at bringing back to the spotlight the long awaited return of the Parthenon marbles to Greece.

Kalogeropoulos, who lives and works in Oldenburg of Northern Germany, has employed his imagination and skills to produce a 1.21 min long video showing the stolen statues from Greece being kept in the British Museum.

The initiative entitled “You can steal a statue but you cannot steal my origin”, is widely circulating on the Internet and getting positive reviews for its part in preserving the Greek cultural heritage.

The video shows a Caryatid saying that her sisters are in Greece, Pericles naming his Greek origin and that he wants to return home, while there are other pictures of classical Greek statues pleading for help to return to their homeland and not be held hostage.
