Fake footwear, clothing and household goods were distributed by the Municipality of Thessaloniki to different institutions of the city, such as the Psychiatric Hospital of Thessaloniki, the House of Arsi and the Social Care Unit of Aghios Panteleymonas.
The distributed goods came from different confiscation cases and aimed at covering the basic needs of people in need in charitable and mental institutions.
Vice Mayor for Social Solidarity and Citizen Protection, Mrs. Kalypso Goula, said that the legislation permits the distribution of confiscated goods for social purposes given that they bear no brand-name.
