The first department abroad of the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA), the third oldest University in Greece, will open its doors to Dubai students next year. In cooperation with Hail Agriculture Development Co., the Greek University will establish a higher education institute in the United Arab Emirates.
“The people of Hail want us to start this coming September. We are very optimistic. This is a major step forward for our University” commented to Greek daily Kathimerini Mr. Constantine Feggeros, Dean of the AUA.
The university department will be hosted in the premises of Dubai Knowledge Village, where other major international universities already have their own departments, such as Yale and Sorbonne.
The received university title will read “Agricultural University of Athens in Dubai”
Biotechnology, nanotechnology, particularly with applications concerning food preservation or quality, floriculture and livestock farming of camels are some of the subject fields to be covered by the new Agricultural Department.
