37th Annual Greek Festival in Fort Meyers on February 24-26

The 37th Annual Greek Festival 2012 will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 24-26, at the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 8210 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers.

The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

There will be authentic Greek foods and pastries presented by the parishioners of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, sponsors of the event. Menu “delights” will include gyros, souvlaki, moussaka, Greek salads, baklava and saganaki (flaming cheese).

Live Greek music and entertainment will be provided by the Islanders Greek Orchestra and Alpha Omega Greek Folk Dance Troupe.

There will be a marketplace featuring imported gift items from Greece, and guests can stop by the taverna for cool Greek wines, beers and the Blue Aegean drink special.

For the children, there will be carnival rides and arcade games.

Admission is $5 for adults with children 12 and under free. Parking is free. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida and Operation Open Arms.
