Pupils Learn About Greek Cultural Presence in Alexandria

The young pupils of Pratsikio Primary School of the Greek Community in Alexandria visited the Branch of the Hellenic Culture Foundation in the Egyptian city and the Kavafis Museum to get a direct taste of the Greek cultural presence in the country.

The children were given a tour through the Hellenic Culture Foundation and were informed by its President, Mr. Manolis Maragkoulis, about the Foundation’s role in promoting the teaching of the Greek language and Culture in Alexandria.

Moreover, the pupils toured the art exhibition at the Kavafis Museum, which includes sculptures, engravings, pictures and paintings from 40 artists from around the world that are being presented to the audience for the first time.

The young pupils showed particular interest in the exhibition and responded positively to a series of educational questions that aimed at bringing them closer to the artistic creations and the multiple ways in which artists have expressed Kavafis’ poetic work.
