Exhibition in Thesprotia Celebrates 50 Years of Asterix

Courageous and smart Asterix le Gaulois and his best friend Obelix with the magic powers are still fighting against Julius Caesar’s legions in the Archaeological Museum of Thesprotia.
The periodical exhibition entitled “50 Years of Asterix” is being hosted at the Museum in Igoumenitsa and has become an educational meeting point for the local schools.
The exhibition was co-organized back in 2009, when the last anniversary comics issue was published, by the 12th Ephorate of Pre-historic and Classical Antiquities, the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, the French Institute of Thessaloniki, “Mammoth Comics”, the Regional Unit of Thesprotia, the Aktia Nikopolis Foundation, the Association for the Protection of the Environment and the Archaeological Sites of Thesprotia and mobile services company Cosmote.
Schools from around the Prefecture are being guided through the exhibition, while young students have the unique opportunity of learning historic facts through fairy tales.
