Greek Singer Lefteris Pantazis Narrowly Avoids Arrest For Illegal Gambling in Sydney

Greek singer Lefteris Pantazis was met by a rather unpleasant surprise after his performance on a cruise ship in Sydney was over.

According to the Greek newspaper of Sydney “The World”, after completing his performance, Pantazis wanted to relax and joined a group of people playing cards. While their game was still on, four members of the cruise ship’s security squad entered the room and told the group they had been illegally gambling, since the only place where they could play cards and bet was in the ship’s casino.

They card players were also told that they would have to be arrested, and that is when the Greek singer was driven away through an emergency exit of the room.

In his interview to Greek newspaper Espresso, Pantazis said that he and his friends had joined the card game in a room that did not bear any sign of prohibiting gambling. “We were only trying to relax and have some fun by placing small amounts of money on each round” added the Greek singer.
