‘The Golden Byzantium and the East’ Exhibition to be Presented in Austria

An exhibition titled ‘The Golden Byzantium and the East’ will be presented from the 31st of March through the 4th of November at the Renaissance Palaces of Lower Austria. The exhibition will focus on the vital role that Byzantium played concerning the development of modern Europe and Constantinople, as it was the cradle of economy and culture.

The art and artifacts that are going to be exhibited for the first time in Central Europe cover the period from 330 until 1453, when Constantinople fell to the Turks.

In addition to small icons, ecclesiastical goods, sculptures and paintings that will offer an educational introduction to the art of a thousand years spread over a hundred thousand miles of territory, the exhibition will provide film viewing, Byzantine music presentations and interactive projects.

Moreover, 3D programs will be presented as well as programs for children and students that will focus on research and literature on the Byzantine Empire.

Whoever is interested in this exhibition can see a small preview during the upcoming International Tourism Exhibition of Vienna, running from this Thursday until the 15th of January.
