Dr. Elizabeth Mavroudi, lecturer of Human Geography in Loughborough University of UK expressed her interest in conducting a new combined research on the sociocultural and and political links between the Greek-Australians and Greece, as well as on how they realize today’s financial crisis plaguing Greece.
The Centre for European Studies of Melbourne University will coordinate the research, which will be conducted in the cities of Melbourne and Canberra from January 9 to February 5, 2012.
Dr. Mavroudi is specializing in the fields of migration, diaspora and transnationalism. At the moment, she is writing her new book on global migration, which will be published by Routledge Publications.
Dr. Mavroudi is interested in contacting Greek-Australians who are being active in different fields, such as politics, religion or community, and reside either in Melbourne or Canberra.
