The writers and readers of the British Sunday Times Travel have announced their Top 10 Holiday Destinations for 2012.
Greece ranked 4th with its islands being portrayed as a masterpiece of simplicity having more to offer to their visitors than the hot sun and the golden sand beaches. “The white-shed villas” of the Aegean, the friendly tavernas around Greece, the local’s hospitality and the cuisine are only a few of the positives aspects of spending holiday time in Greece.
According to Sunday Times writers David Wickers and Mark Hodson, Ionian islands Corfu and Paxos are recommened for those wishing to relax during holidays and spend their days on boat trips.
For those willing to be more active during holiday time, the Lakitira Beach resort on Kos is being portrayed as the best choice.
Crete is also included in the list as the most interesting of all Greek islands given the fact that it has something to offer to everyone.
The UK Magazine also mentions mainland Greece, which can offer visitors a variety in their holiday options.
The first three top destinations are covered by Spain, France, and Great Britain, while Italy, the USA, Turkey, Egypt, Croatia, and Thailand make up for the rest of the list.
