FYROM to Suggest Deadline for Solving Name Dispute Issue

According to FYROM newspapers, FYROM is going to propose a deadline for Greece to solve the name dispute between the two countries,
The Balkan country’s Interior Minister Nikola Poposki says that FYROM should engage with a deadline to fix the name dispute during the so called screening process designed to evaluate the level of transposition and implementation of the EU legislation in the country.
FYROM continues to have no date for starting the EU talks as the Council of the European Union has repeatedly put off grating the country a date, largely because of the name dispute.
Greece is concerned that the recognition of Macedonia’s name could allow it to have territorial claims for it since much of northern Greece is also in the geographic region of Macedonia.
UN’s International Court of Justice is going to make its ruling on the Macedonia-Greece name dispute on December 5 2011, as it was announced last week.
