Greek MPs Visit the UK Parliament

Greek MPs Ntinos Vrettos(PASOK), Ilias Karanikas (PASOK) and Panos Panayotopoulos (New Democracy) paid a 2-day visit to the UK Parliament in London, invited by the Greek-British Friendship Committee.

Major purpose of the meeting among Greek and British MPs was to discuss about bilateral relations between Britain and Greece, economic crisis in Greece and Eurozone in general, the current situation in Cyprus and the European perspectives of Turkey.

Main topic of discussion during the meeting was the potential exit of Greece from the Eurozone and the Greek MPs said that whoever discusses about Greece’s exit from the Eurozone does not care about Greece’s interest. “Greece belongs and will continue to belong to the Eurozone”, MP Panayotopoulos stated.

Panayotopoulos also referred to the British Reality Show ‘Go Greek For a Week’, stating that it is offensive.

Finally, Greek MPs talked about current economic situation in Greece, while Vrettos underlined the investment perspectives provided in Greece concerning tourism sector.
