The mother’s decision to deliver a baby contaminated with the lethal virus has caused quite a stir and contradictory reactions.
Until today, the mothers giving birth to HIV infected babies were reportedly immigrants on Greek grounds. In some cases, the mother did not know she was HIV positive herself due to lack of information and sufficient medical care
In this particular case, however, the Greek mother was well aware of her transmitting the virus to her newborn baby.
