Lesvos Sends Aid to Quake-Struck Van

Citizens of the island of Lesvos sent for the third time humanitarian aid to the now twice earthquake-hit city of Van in Eastern Turkey.

A few days ago, representatives from the Hellenic Rescue Team of Mytilene accompanied the third and last humanitarian aid mission and experienced the extremely difficult conditions the people of Van faced after the disastrous earthquake.

Humanitarian aid material was gathered after the respective initiative of the citizen forum “Coexistence and Communication in the Aegean” and was successfully conducted with the help of the Solidarity Committee of Ayvalik.

This third mission included 300 torches, blankets, diapers, and other first aid products, which were all provided by the people and institutions of Lesvos.
