Euro-zone nations can stall for time but ultimately Greece must solve its own issues, German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said Monday.
“Euro-zone solidarity has its limits,” said Schaeuble at a seminar on the Future of Europe held at the University in Tampere, Finland.
Schaeuble said it is important to contain the economic and sovereign debt crisis, calling for further global regulation of financial markets. “We must reduce financial markets’ potential to induce crises,” he said.
The Eurogroup meeting of euro-zone finance ministers later Monday will focus on the latest developments in Greece as well as discussing how to implement summit decision reached by euro-zone nations on Oct. 27.
