Samaras to Meet President on Sunday-Insists on Snap Elections

Greek conservative opposition leader Antonis Samaras on Saturday repeated his demand that Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou resign and the country move to snap elections.
Samaras, head of the New Democracy party, said he still backed the idea of a short-term coalition government with the aim of securing parliamentary approval of a euro zone bailout for Greece before elections are held.
Samaras described Prime Minister George Papandreou as “dangerous for the country” but did not say whether he would attend any negotiations with the government.
Antonis Samaras will meet the country’s president on Sunday, a statement from the president’s office said. The meeting is scheduled for 1100 GMT, the statement said.
