Greek-Australian Evangelos Goussis was sentenced to 27 years in jail for the murders of two victims of the Melbourne gangland killings. The former boxer will stay in prison for at least 27 years after he lost his final appeal.

Goussis was found guilty by a jury for the murder of underworld figures Lewis Caine and Lewis Moran in 2009 and was sentenced to serve a minimum of 30 years.

44-year-old Goussis is currently detained in the maximum security Acacia unit of Barwon Prison. He will be eligible for parole again in 2039.
