The new director of ERT S.A. International TV Broadcasts, Nikos Meggrelis aims to create a unique bridge of communication with Hellenism worldwide.
Nikos Meggrelis told Neos Kosmos, “The first priority during these 3 months was the creation of an English-language news broadcast on TV at 4:30p.m.(local time in Greece)”.
Major purpose of Nikos Meggrelis is the broadcasting of TV programmes that refer to tourism, entrepreneurship and economy.”With three separate localized time schedules for Europe, USA – Canada and Australia, a news broadcast in English, subtitled series and a plethora of thematic programs, indicate the new direction has high expectations on a comprehensive upgrade of a channel, “poor” in content and quality up to present”, Meggrelis also noted.
Nikos Meggrelis aims to create a contact office through a special mechanism, where the opinions of the viewers will be noted down and then will be evaluated. Special programs for Hellenic Diaspora will also be included in the upcoming upgraded program.
According to Meggrelis, two brand new programs will arrive soon at ERT World, a Greek Documentary Program and a Greek Cinema Program.
Yet, “all our purposes cannot be fulfilled during poor financial circumstances that we are under at the moment, thus this attempt requires hard work and patience”, Meggrelis concluded.
