TV critics believe that the adaptation of the book ‘The Slap’ written by Greek-origin Christos Tsiolkas into a TV series constitutes a masterpiece. The first episode of the series (they are going to be 8 episodes in total) came in on Thursday night on SBC TV in the mainland capital city ratings with 946,000 viewers.
Everyone is praising the series, that is concerned to be an excellent production bringing about additional perspectives to the original book. 600,000 copies of the book ‘The Slap’ have been sold worldwide but is expected to sell much more copies, due to the TV series.
Critics underline that both book and series really connect to Greeks. Actors such as Alex Demetriadis, Lex Marinos, and Toula Gianni received positive critiques.
