Legionnaires' Disease Strikes Corfu Island?

Nine possible cases of Legionnaires’ disease have been recently diagnosed in Great Britain among them people, who visited Corfu Island in Greece over the summer.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention shows anxiety about the current situation in Greece and thus a team of doctors have just arrived on the island of Corfu,  to look for more cases of this disease.
The British Health Protection Agency does not rule out the possibility that the patients caught the disease while in Britain, but it is already working with Health Public Authorities in Greece concerning this specific disease.
Legionnaires’ Disease does not spread from person to person.The bacterium which causes Legionnaires’ Disease is widespread in cooling towers, evaporative condensers, whirlpool spas and air-conditioning devices used for domestic purposes in buildings such as hotels, where the systems are not being cleaned regularly. Legionnaires’ Disease is a type of pneumonia and very often could be fatal.
