Australian Greek Welfare Society (AGWS) continues to serve the needs of the Australian Greek community, and those of new migrants, for over 40 years through innovative programs and services.
The political leadership of Australia thinks that the work of AGWS is praiseworthy.The Australian Greek Welfare Society celebrated its 40th year Anniversary on Friday, and celebrated by organizing a large gala.
The Australian Prime Minister, Julia Gillard underlined that the accomplishments of the AGWS are of great importance and believed that it will continue to focus on the development and implementation of services and programs to meet the needs of Greek community.
The inspirator of the whole idea about the creation of this particular Greek Australian society, Dr. Spyros Moraitis noted that the duration of the society’s working is the most surprising matter.
As far as the maintenance of the language is concerned, AGWS is continuously playing an important role.
