Τurkish Investor Regects Greek Islands as Profitable

Head of the Board of Directors of Turkish enterprise Fiyapi, Mr. Fikret Inan claimed that “Greeks should not get their hopes up that they might be in position of selling their islands. These islands do not favour investments. Furthermore, in comparison to Turkey, Greece has more complex and rigid processes concerning the purchase of state property”.

Mr. Inan has showed interest in buying some Greeks islands that were on sale in the past. He had found their prices very attractive at the time but after visiting these islands he said he realized they were only islets in the middle of the sea.

“Even if they gave me this land for free, I wouldn’t be able to construct anything on them. In my opinion, it is hopeless for the Greeks to believe they can have any profit from these islands”, added Mr. Inan.

“When we got into details of purchasing, we saw that bureaucracy in Greece is ten times worse than in our country”, added the Turkish businessman.
