New Fines to Food Businesses Imposed by EFET

Supermarkets, food industries, hotels, food preparation workshops, restaurants, bakeries, canteens and other businesses in Attica, Central Macedonia, Peloponnese, Thessaly, Epirus, Western Greece, Crete, East Macedonia, Thrace and the Ionian Islands were targeted by EFET ((Hellenic Food Safety Authority).
EFET imposed 66 fines totaling 339,500 euros for violations such as the disposal of adulterated products, poor hygiene standards of premises, and lack authorized operation of some food businesses. ”All businesses found guilty of comitting the same violations over and over again, without showing any willingness to comply with the recommendations of our auditors will be treated under the law strictly,” said the chairman of EFET Yiannis Michas.
