Greek-Americans Celebrate Assumption Day

With solemnity and religious devotion, the Greeks of the homogeneity in New York and many states in America celebrated Assumption Day.

The expatriates celebrated this year, like every year during the entire period of celebration for Assumption Day, with daily prayers, praises and the Great Feast that was sung yesterday at all the Orthodox churches and monasteries.

On Assumption Day, the bells of all the churches of Orthodox Christianity in the United States of America, wherever allowed, sounded joyfully.

Although in the United States it was a normal day and not a national holiday, churches were packed with devotees who came to participate in the Mystery of Eucharist.
