Akis Tzohatzopoulos, already accused of money laundering in a scandal regarding German submarines, finds himself in the midst of a new economic scandal.
In March of 2000, when Mr. Tzohatzopoulos was Minister of Defense, self-protection systems ASPIS II for the F-16 planes had been ordered with an estimated cost of 2 billion euros. Ηowever, nine years later these systems have not been installed yet.
The Supreme Court has suggested that Mr. Tzohatzopoulos be put on trial by the regular court.
