According to the decision of the Deputy Minister of Education, Fofi Gennimata, new secondary education schools will open in the Exarchia region of Athens under the scope of the drug rehabilitation unit “Above 18”.
The classes are open to citizens who have or will soon come off drugs and have not been enrolled in secondary school for at least three years.
Professors interested in teaching at these schools will find information and details on the website of the Ministry of Education. A special committee responsible for these schools will interview candidates for teaching positions before making the final choices.
Candidates for the teaching positions must be permanent public employees, and previous work experience and participation in health education programmes or drug rehabilitation units will be taken into consideration. Candidates chosen for the positions will take part in an intensive training programme for one week before classes begin.
