Sinodinos Elected Liberal Party State President

Arthur Sinodinos has been elected as the NSW’s Liberal state President. He was the former chief of staff of former state president John Howard.

Mr. Sinodinos won the ballot of 512 votes with only 50 votes against him. His political ideas are characterized as more moderate and to the right. He will take over from Natasha Maclaren-Jones who was elected in the March election.

Peter Poulos, another Greek Australian politician, who served as a Rockdale councilor from the hard right sub-faction, was elected vice-president of the same party.

Mr. Sinodinos had the support of federal opposition leader Tony Abbott and Premier Barry O’ Farrel. Mr. O’ Farrell said that Arthur Sinodinos would ”continue the reform process to clean up the Liberal Party that I set in motion in 2008”.
