Centers for Environmental Education Will Be Closed

According to Xanthi press, 10 centers for Environmental Education around Greece will be closed next year, including the center of Xanthi. The centers are expected to close due to lack of funds which are necessary for their running, according to a document sent on 22 July, by Deputy Minister Fofi Gennimata.
For many years, these centers have been providing environmental education and awareness to students of the regions, while promoting and protecting important local habitats. Consequently, the prospect of their closure has caused reactions all around Greece.
