Although there is crisis and Greece is dealing with number of severe financial problems, the wine industry is flourishing. However, the Greek National and International, Professional Organization of Vine and Wine has stopped its activities. The Greek wine Federation have made a complaint to the European Commission regarding credit facilitation for the purchase and collection of the 2010, grape harvests for the amount of €10 million to cooperatives and €5 million to private wineries, even though the private wineries have a 70% of the total production.

As a result, the international campaign of Greek wines has been suspended. The Greek Wine Federation mentioned that under no circumstances will Greek wine fall behind, even if it has to create a new organization.
