The fully renovated Garden Theatre “Manos Hatzidakis’ in Heraklion, Crete has been finally completed. The operations made by teams of the department which is responsible for the Venetian Walls, resulted in the upgrading of the area, both aesthetically and functionally. Specifically, there was mounting and restoration of the low square of the Jesus Gate and the vaulted galleries. Roadways were paved and the wooden flooring of the square was replaced by a new one. Underground cables, cleaning of open spaces and lighting inside and outside the galleries were some of the alterations made in the Garden Theater.
A new gate was placed on the side of the trench and new dressing rooms have been built for the needs of events. For the first time, the entrance stands by Plastiras Str.
