An angry crowd trapped a member of the parliament in Lamia, a city in central Greece. Nikos Tsionis was in the area visiting the local office of his party, PASOK. Locals realized his presence and started protesting. They closed the building’s exit trapping Tsonis and a few others inside for at least two hours.
When he finally decided to face the crowd and exit Tsonis was attacked by the people who also through at him eggs, yogurt and whatever other items had with them.
Tsonis was one of the PASOK members (the ruling party) who supported by vote the new austerity plan last week.
