Soprano Star Elsa Kastela Excels as Opera Teacher, Vienna

Greek soprano singer Elsa Kastela is excelling as a teacher in Vienna.  She has had a brilliant career in famous opera houses and concert halls in Europe. She presented together with five female students a rich program that included extracts of particularly difficult operetta projects, with a total of nine major composers, from Strauss to Lechar.  The Viennese public greatly applauded the artists and their teacher at the end of the concert.

Elsa Kastela-Kreihsl served as the permanent protagonist of the Bonn Opera in Germany for almost a decade.  She has also made appearances in theaters and concert halls in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and the United States. Born in Piraeus, Elsa Kastela graduated from the National Conservatory of Athens with many awards for excellent performances in piano, monody and opera singing.

She continued her studies at the Music Academy of Vienna, where she graduated with degrees in monody and opera, and at the same time she attended, as a scholar, music classes at the world famous “Mozarteum” of Salzburg.  She was later called as a protagonist of the famous Opera of Bonn, Germany.

The Greek artist has been teaching since 1981 for nearly twenty years, monody and singing technique at the Conservatory of Vienna. Both at the Vienna Conservatory and the Prayner Conservatory of Music and Drama, where she has been teaching since 2000 until today.  Elsa Kastella has always dedicated her life to teaching and supporting young artists.
