Steve Forbes Leads “1st Greek Power Summit: Helping Greece Rebuild” Conference, Athens

Does George Papandreou have to reshuffle his cabinet? Is the restructuring of the debt unavoidable? Can the famous “flat tax” save the Greek economy? What does the Prime Minister have to say next time he is going to meet with Angela Merkel? Steve Forbes has a lot of solid advice for the Greek government.
The 64-year-old American businessman and editor  of Forbes is coming to Athens and will be the main speaker at the “1st Greek Power Summit: Helping Greece Rebuild”. The summit will take place on the 14th and the 15th of June, at The Grande Bretagne Hotel.

Forbes is one of the most stable and power voices of freedom in finance internationally.  He is very influential regarding political developments in his country, through his journal and the historic media group that he directs. An opponent of Barak Obama, but also critical against George Bush Junior, Forbes is a wonderful speaker with clear views, which he expresses without beating about the bush; a real “economist” of speech.
In an exclusive interview to BHMagazino, he supports that the really free markets are controlled by themselves, that “bubbles” are created due to state intervention in the markets, that in five years the Euro and dollar will be connected with gold and that as Greek Classicals and Shakespeare teach, the circumstances change, people never do.  As far as the Greek Prime Minister is concerned, he suggested that next time he will meet with Angela Merkel, he should talk to her about Ludwig Earhart, the Minister of Finance of West Germany after the World War II, who abolished all the controls in economy, that had been imposed by the Allies, he reduced the taxes and that’s how the German miracle started.
Forbes also said that he is optimistic for Greece and that it has to restructure its debt. He added that the Prime Minister has to think of reshuffling his cabinet. He also referred to the USA’s economy and to both the Euro and dollar, mentioning that Euro has to be connected with gold. According to his view, financial “bubbles” are a result of governments’ faults and that the greatest President of the USA was Lincoln, while he finds that Obama hasn’t helped his country yet. Steve Forbes has visited Greece many times and he likes it a lot.
