Greek Man Breaks 3 Guinness World Records!

Three Guinness World Records were broken by Kostas Karipidis and his team, in a ceremony that took place in the closed gymnastics hall of Alexandroupoli.  The ceremony was followed by the presence of Japanese Ambassador in Greece, Toda Hiroshi and Kostas Karipidis, head of Japanese ”Aiki-  Jujutsu” traditional martial  arts, in Greece.

The successful record-breaking events were confirmed by the official female judge of Guinness World Records, Tarika Vara.  The  three records broken are the following:

A) Try for the most reverses of an opponent within a minute (the previous record holders were two Italian jujitsu athletes with 30 reverses). The new Guinness record now belongs to Miki Kiourtzidis and Agisilaos Beseksidis (athletes in Kostas Karipidis karate school) with 34 reverses!

B) Try for the most cuts with a ”katana” sword against stable objects within one minute (the record holder was an American with 30 cuts). The new Guinness record belongs to Kostas Karipidis with 68 cuts!

C) Try for the most reverses of multiple opponents within a minute, using the Irimi – Kote – Gaeshi technique (Kostas Karipidis has been the record holder with 51 cuts, since June 26th 2010. The new record belongs to Kostas Karipidis, again with 65 reverses!
