Greek Woman Sentenced to 25 Years for Attempted Murder of her Kids

A Melbourne court decided a 25-year sentence for a woman of Greek descent who tried to kill her two minor children and then tried to commit suicide. According to the judicial decision, C.S. must serve her sentence in a psychiatric clinic “for as long as needed”. This means that if doctors decide that she has been cured, she will be free earlier, whenever they think it’s proper for her. The court, based on doctor’s testimonies, decided that the woman suffers from major depression and psychosis. According to their statements, 43-year-old C.S. during a psychotic episode, tried to kill her children, three years and seven months old and then tried to kill herself. Now she is being kept in a psychiatric clinic and she is under the care of the national service for psycho-mental diseases. Her lawyer David Brestman mentioned that the woman was abused by other patients, while she was in custody. Police are investigating this complaint.
