Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism George Nikitiadis met in Helsinki with the most important travel agents of Finland and representatives of airline companies, which was organized by the Greek Tourism Organization, dedicated to the promotion of Greece. The Deputy Minister talked to the agents he met about the new strategy of the Greek government concerning tourism, underlining that development can exist only if all parts cooperate. After, the public TV channel of Finland and journalists from newspapers and tourism magazines of the country asked Mr. Nikitiadis some “tough” questions, as they had already been aware of the tourism situation in Greece. The Greek Deputy Minister, who answered with honesty, also met with his Finnish homologue and informed him about the initiative of Greece to organize an unofficial summit of Tourism Ministers in Rhodes next June, the major subject of which will be the issue of entrance visas for Russian travelers. He also invited him to the Acropolis Museum, as the Finnish Deputy Minister hasn’t visited it yet. Last Tuesday, the Greek Ambassador of Finland organized a reception in honor of Mr. Nikitadis, where professors, businessmen and other leading figures of Helsinki were present.
