Greek FM and EEAE issue advisory for Greeks in Japan – Radiation warning

As the nuclear threat is growing, Greek Foreign Ministry and Greek Atomic Energy Commision issued advisories for Greek citizens in Japan. In general, citizens are advised to move further than 80 km radius from the Fukushima Daiichi reactor, move towards the south of the country, those willing to leave should contact diplomatic representations and avoid travelling there.

Greek Atomic Energy Commission advisory for Greek citizens in Japan
The Greek Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC) has issued the following advice to Greeks in Japan:
1. Greek citizens within an 80 km radius of the Fukushima Daiichi plant must move further away.
2. Greeks who are unable to leave Japan at this time are advised to at least move to southern areas.
3.All Greek citizens must follow the local authorities’ safety instructions.
4. For Greek citizens returning to Greece, the GAEC, in cooperation with “Eleftherios Venizelos” international airport, has arranged for radiological checks of passengers and luggage arriving from Japan, as well as of aircraft carrying out direct flights from Japan.
