Manolis Rasoulis Passes at Age 66

The unexpected death of Manolis Rasoulis was announced this morning. The Cretan artist died at the age of 66- years- old. Some of his friends found him dead this morning, in Thessaloniki. According to the medical examiner, he had died four days ago. Manolis Rasoulis was facing some serious heart problems.
He has written some incredible songs like the “Ah, Ellada”, “Niose me”, and many other beautiful songs that will be forever carved into our hearts. His songs are known even in Israel, Turkey and Serbia as well as in every country that hosts expatriate Greeks. For some strange reason he was also famous in Japan, too.
Apart from his lyrics, Rassoulis was a well known public figure in Greece as a singer, writer and journalist. During his long career, spanning almost four decades, he had put out over 20 records and eight books.
Rassoulis was born in Crete in 1945.
