Greeks of Melbourne Celebrate Carnival on March 5th & 6th

The Greek Community of Melbourne organized its’ annual “Glenti”.  It is held in March, in order to celebrate the March 25th national anniversary, as well as the Greek Carnival.

On March 5th and 6th, the “Greek Corner” of Melbourne will organize a big event, which is expected to be attended by many Greeks and Australians. Many Greek artists and bands, such as “Ta paidia apo tin Patra” and “Zig Zag” will parade through the streets of Melbourne. There will also be a cooking contest, a “syrtaki” contest, as well as a Greek coffee preparation contest. There will also be a playground and stands with Greek food. This is expected to be the biggest carnival festival ever held in Australia.
