Mount Athos Center Organizes Exhibition at Zografeion School, Istanbul

Doug Patterson’s works inspired by illustrating themes from Mount Athos and St. Catherine’s Monastery in Sinai will be presented at the Zografeion School in Istanbul. The British artist’s works are illustrations of monastic communities.  They are inspired by the journeys of pilgrims and travelers, such as Vasili Gregorovic Barsky (1701-1747), Samuel Davis (1760 – 1819) and Hercules Brabazon Brabazon (1820 – 1904).
The exhibition is organized by Mount Athos Center.  It will be inaugurated by the Ecumenical Patriarch, His All Holiness Bartholomew and Mayor of Thessaloniki and President of Mt. Athos Center, Giannis Boutaris, on the 17th of February.
The exhibition in Istanbul will be open until the 8th of March.  It will also be presented in Thessaloniki the following month by Mount Athos Center.
