Annual Pontian Meeting Held in Adelaide

The annual Pontian meeting was held in Adelaide,  Southern Australia. More than two-hundred-and-eighty Pontians from Melbourne, Sydney and Perth attended the event. During this three-day meeting, the Pontians of Australia discussed matters of the Pontian Federation of Australia, as well as its goals for the current year. Among the most important subjects discussed, were the Pontian Genocide recognition. Australian politician, Michael Atkinson (ex-minister for Justice, for Veterans’ Affairs, and for Multicultural Affairs), is also a big philhellenist.  He introduced the issue of the Pontian Genocide recognition in the South Australian House of Assembly, whom was also present in the event. The next Pontian meeting of Australia was decided for January 21st, 22nd and 23rd, 2012 in Melbourne.
