Immigrants Travel to Athens to Stage Hunger Strike Demanding Residency

More than two-hundred immigrants have arrived in the Greek capital from the island of Crete.  They came to Athens to begin a hunger strike demanding residence papers.
The immigrants, all young men mostly from Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia, are camping on the premises of Athens University’s law school.  By law, the campus is off limits to police. They say they will begin their hunger strike Tuesday.
