Archimandrite Iakovos Tsigounis Elected New Australian Assistant Bishop

The Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate has unanimously elected Archimandrite Iakovos Tsigounis with the title of Miletoupolis (Militoupoleos, Militoupolis), as an Assistant Bishop to His Eminence Archbishop Stylianos of Australia.  His Grace Bishop-elect Iakovos of Miletoupolis, (Miletoupoleos, Militoupolis) is 44-years-old and a graduate of the St. Andrew’s Theological College in Sydney. He serves as a Parish Priest of the Greek Orthodox Parish and Community of St. Anargyroi Oakleigh in Melbourne. The two other Archimandrites of Australia who were added from the catalogue that Archbishop Stylianos had submitted, were Archimandrite Nektarios Zormbalas (75-years-old) and Archimandrite Eleftherios Kambourakis (35-years-old).
