The Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria dedicated the biggest part of its Christmas celebration to Greek children who excelled in the lessons of Greek language in 2009. Many students, parents, teachers and compatriots attended the event. The Greek Community in cooperation with the General Consulate of Melbourne and Cyprus Bank of Australia, awarded the students who excelled in Greek. Only five of students of the community and of Alphington Grammae were awarded special prizes and received prize money.
