Croatia Stealing Greece’s “Epidaurus Festival” Name

Cavtat is a town in Croatia and is situated on the Dalmatian Coasts.  It organized the “EPIDAURUS FESTIVAL”, a successful festival of classical music. At www.cavtatportal.com, it is mentioned that the town was built in the 6th century B.C., by a few Greek merchants coming from Epidaurus, Peloponnese. The festival, which started four years ago, is only classical music and has nothing to do with ancient Greek tragedy or comedy. In the festival’s website there is no mention about the origin of its name or about the importance of the Greek Epidaurus. The Greek Ministry of Culture has not been informed about the existence of this festival and has not reacted to protect the name of the Greek historical Epidaurus.
